Ways to Prep YOU for Postpartum

Ways to Prep YOU for Postpartum

Create Postpartum Bathroom Kits -

These are essential for postpartum healing! I keep one basket in each bathroom that I use often on top of the toilet or on a nearby shelf that’s easily accessible. This basket if for you only, think waist down only! Mom Frida has some awesome pre made kits that have a lot of what I use in their kits already. Find it in the next link. You will most likely need to re fill supplies, and can definitely find cheaper off brands but I do love this box a lot! Here is a check list of items I include in my baskets:

Maxi Pads (Overnight and thick maxi pads with flaps on the sides are best for postpartum)

Disposable postpartum underware

Witch Hazel Pads or Perineal Cooling Pad Liners ☐

Perineal Spray or foam ☐

Peri Wash Bottle ☐

Instant Ice Maxi Pads by Frida Mom ☐

Preparation H or stool softener ☐ (I personally never had to use these items but I know they can be a life saver!)

Nursing//Feeding + Diaper//Changing Cart -

Another essential to make your life so much easier! I use a 3 tier cart that’s easy to roll around with you just like this. This cart will be stocked with things you will be using constantly. Here is how I stock my cart, see my blog post here for my checklist.

Create an Oh Shit! Diaper Kit for your car -

This is a a great tip and tool in case you forget to bring your diaper bag in the car, or are out of something you didn’t know! (It happens!) Keep this emergency bin or old wipes box stocked in your car center counsel or back trunk!

Here is what I put in this ‘Oh shit! Diaper Kit’ -

An extra outfit for baby and toddler ☐ (Be sure to change out sizes as baby grows!)

An extra shirt for you ☐

Baby Wipes ☐

2-3 Diapers ☐ (Be sure to change out sizes as baby grows!)

Diaper balm ☐

Extra pacifier ☐

A pair of socks for baby ☐

Pack your Hospital Bags -

See my blog post on all the essentials to pack, get the checklist here!

Prepare some Freezer Meals -

Look out for a blog post coming soon on my favorite postpartum freezer meals to prep!

Create a Healthy Snack Basket -

Stock up on all your favs + energy boosting snacks that you can quickly grab when you’re feeding babe constantly and you’re ravenous. Pro tip, hide this bin from your husband and other children. ;)

LASTLY- Relax, take some deep breaths, go take a nap and enjoy some time by yourself!

Good luck Mama!! You got this.
