Easy Arts & Crafts for Toddlers ♡
Here are some different art activities you can try with your little ones! Perfect for before holidays, birthdays or anytime fun.
Cookie Cutter Painting
Cotton ball painting
Q-tip painting
Symmetry painting- Cut their paper the shape of their choice. Use a couple paints, help them fold in half and see what they make.
Can/Jar shake painting- mess free! Find a clear plastic container with a lid- place piece of paper and a couple paints of their choice. Close the container with everything in it and let them shake it up! Makes a beautiful work of art.
Salad spinner art- The same sort of concept as the shaking jar but a salad spinner instead! Place paper and a little paint in spinner and let them spin.
No mess smush painting- painting inside a ziploc bag that’s taped down.
Sidewalk chalk, a classic!
Tape then paint art. Get some thick paper or a canvas. The dollar store sells kids canvases. Tape using painters tape- any design or words you’d like. Then let them paint away the rest, let dry and simply peel off!
Edible finger painting- Only two ingredients! Always a hit with the kids, especially little ones who put everything in their mouth. Yogurt and plant based food coloring. Completely edible, fun to paint with and sneakin’ in some extra protein too!
Salt dough- A personal fav from the classroom! Easy three times ingredient “play doh” that dries hard if you want some lasting art. 1 cup salt, 1 cup flour, 1/2 cup water. That’s it! Mix until you have dough. You can do imprint art, sculpt something for them to paint or just have them have fun with it.
Shaving cream + food coloring. Paint on paper or fun sensory art play- perfect for the bath tub!!!
Dot pen art! You can find for paint pens at Michael’s, Target or on Amazon.
Paper towel + Toilet paper roll painting. Fold into heart shape, cut ends to make “fireworks,” or leave as is to make circles.
Edible play dough- mix and knead 1/2 cup corn starch. 1 cup oatmeal – I ground up regular rolled oats in my blender. If you use quick oats, you don’t really need to grind them up. They should mix into the play dough just fine. 1/2 cup water. Food coloring (optional.)
Painting with celery -stamping with celery makes little hearts.
