EZ DIY INTRO
Hi friends!
Zach here, and welcome to my first post. I am a huge of fan of the DIY projects for several reasons. For starters you get your hands dirty, and get to learn something new. With DIY projects you can add value to your home without dumping tons of money on a subcontractor. Being a home owner is tight, you have the freedom to build additions, landscape, and modify your home as you see fit. We moved into a newly constructed home in 2015. Since then we have put in many hours into making our house unique and turning it into our home.
My brother and I have been helping my dad with home projects since we were very young lads. From landscaping our backyard, to installing wood flooring, my dad was constantly using our free labor to upgrade our modest home. At the time my brother and I viewed this as a burden as dad was making us spend our precious weekend hours helping him, instead of allowing us to race our bikes throughout the neighborhood. Now my brother and I are both homeowners and have a great set of hand’s on skills and street smarts that we can apply in our adult lives.
We don’t have a fancy home or live on lots of land (… yet) and our neighborhood is described as “cookie-cutter”. This is not our forever home, however for now we live here and for now we love it. We do live in a congested neighborhood but I think we selected the best lot out of the bunch. We are the last home in the cul de sac, and with no house next to ours we have unobstructed views of the Catalina mountains from our living room. Atop our balcony we get to watch the sunset over the Tucson mountains, and when we sit in our backyard, it feels like we are the only house in the area.
Below are some project photos, I will add individual posts with more detail in the future.
Cheers - Z
